Welcome to our Research Lab

The RISE Lab is a dynamic research hub dedicated to storytelling engagement through relational inquiry. The research lab is an initiative that brings people - who are interested in the art of inquiry -  together.  This research lab was born inspired by the words of Maya Angelou in "Still I Rise". During a particular moment of relational exploration, creative energy surfaced in my life. I have been noticing how storytelling has the power to liberate people from the influences of all kinds of pressures.  I have found the words of Maya Angelou to be poignant during a time when I was trying to make meaning of a human experience.  The RISE lab is the physical embodiment of a commitment to support the community, in particular women who are learning how to live their preferred lives in a world that is not developed for them. The main hope of this lab is to develop physical, emotional, and relational connections to projects that will help further our understandings of our lived experiences. With the support of our collaborators, research team, and volunteers, the RISE lab is committed to advancing notions of knowledge in the field of systemic family therapy.
